Description

This savory cabbage beef bake is a comforting one-pan meal made with cabbage, ground beef, tomatoes, and rice. It’s warm, simple, and perfect for weeknight dinners or meal prep.

Ingredients

Scale

1 lb ground beef

1 small onion, chopped

1 small cabbage, shredded

1 can (14.5 oz) diced tomatoes, with juice

1 cup cooked rice

1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce

1 tsp garlic powder

1 tsp paprika

1/2 tsp salt

1/4 tsp black pepper

Instructions

1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.

2. In a skillet, cook ground beef and onion over medium heat for 7 minutes until browned. Drain fat.

3. Add shredded cabbage, diced tomatoes with juice, cooked rice, Worcestershire sauce, garlic powder, paprika, salt, and pepper.

4. Stir and simmer the mixture for 5 minutes to combine flavors.

5. Transfer to the prepared baking dish and spread evenly.

6. Cover with foil and bake for 30–35 minutes until cabbage is tender.

7. Let rest for 5 minutes, then serve warm.

Notes

Shred cabbage finely for quicker, more even cooking.

Use ground chicken or turkey for a lighter version.

Add chili powder or red pepper flakes for heat.

Make it vegetarian by swapping beef with lentils.

Top with cheese during the last 10 minutes of baking if desired.
